Siemens, a global leader in technology and industrial automation, has joined forces with NED University of Engineering and Technology to launch a state-of-the-art Innovation Center in Pakistan. This groundbreaking collaboration seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing engineering students with practical, industry-relevant training and equipping them with the skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive job market.

The Innovation Center, which is fully equipped with the latest technology and software, will offer hands-on experience in key areas such as power automation, protection, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and control systems. The facility is designed to give students the opportunity to engage with real-world challenges and gain expertise in advanced engineering practices that are essential for success in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Muhammad Hashsham Haris, a visiting faculty member at NED University and a key figure at Siemens, expressed his excitement about the partnership. He emphasized the significance of creating a direct link between academic learning and industry needs, stating that initiatives like this are essential for fostering innovation and driving economic growth. According to Haris, this collaboration will not only enhance the practical skills of students but also enable them to better understand the demands of the industry, making them more job-ready upon graduation.

The establishment of the Innovation Center marks the beginning of a long-term strategic partnership between Siemens and NED University. Both organizations are dedicated to supporting the professional development of engineering students through various training programs, workshops, and other initiatives aimed at deepening students’ knowledge of cutting-edge technologies. These programs will be designed to address the evolving needs of the engineering and technology sectors, particularly in areas related to automation, energy, and digitalization.

Siemens’ commitment to education and training aligns with its broader goal of driving technological advancement and innovation worldwide. By investing in the education of Pakistan’s future engineers, Siemens and NED University aim to contribute to the development of a highly skilled workforce that can play a significant role in driving the country’s economic growth. Moreover, the partnership positions Pakistan as a hub for technological innovation, offering students and professionals in the region access to state-of-the-art training facilities and expertise.

The collaboration between Siemens and NED University is also expected to benefit the wider industry, as it will create a pool of highly trained engineers with specialized skills that can be leveraged by local businesses and multinational companies operating in Pakistan. This, in turn, will help attract more investment and foster a culture of innovation and technological advancement across various sectors of the economy.

Overall, the establishment of the Siemens-NED University Innovation Center is a significant step forward in the development of Pakistan’s engineering education sector. By combining Siemens’ global expertise with NED University’s strong academic foundation, the partnership offers a unique opportunity to cultivate the next generation of engineers who will shape the future of Pakistan’s industrial and technological landscape.
