Airlink Communication, a leading Pakistani smartphone manufacturer, distributor, and retailer, recently hosted a visit by Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, the Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication.

The Minister toured Airlink’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, which partners with global tech giants like Xiaomi and Tecno. She expressed her admiration for Airlink’s focus on innovation and its commitment to gender inclusivity, with a remarkable 25-30% female workforce participation.

“I am truly impressed by the technological advancements and commitment to gender inclusivity demonstrated by Airlink,”

stated the Minister.  She emphasized the government’s recognition of the smartphone manufacturing industry as a key driver of economic growth and job creation.  The Minister pledged full support for individuals and businesses in the sector, aiming to position Pakistan as a future leader in exporting technology products.

Airlink’s Group CEO, Muzzaffar H Piracha, responded by highlighting the company’s vision for technology transfer and its role in making Pakistan a global technological hub.  He pointed out that Pakistan’s domestic smartphone production now stands at 97%, holding immense potential for economic contribution.  Mr. Piracha estimated that smartphone exports alone could generate up to $10 billion in foreign exchange, further solidifying Pakistan’s position in the global market.

Looking beyond smartphones, Airlink has set its sights on expanding into Electric Vehicles (EVs) and advancing the landscape of Internet of Things (IoT) products in Pakistan.  Their vision is a future where technological innovations not only meet domestic needs but also drive significant foreign exchange through exports.

Airlink’s commitment to progress is further demonstrated by their investment in a Xiaomi LED production factory, set to begin operations in the coming months. Through strategic partnerships and a dedication to excellence, Airlink continues to empower communities through technology.
