The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recently launched the Tajir Dost module on the Tax Asaan App, aiming to streamline the registration process for unregistered traders and shopkeepers. This initiative is designed to provide easier access to tax registration services, particularly for those operating in the informal sector.

With the activation of the Tajir Dost module, traders and shopkeepers across various cities in Pakistan can now register conveniently using their mobile phones. This user-friendly feature on the Tax Asaan App simplifies the registration process, making it more accessible to individuals who may not have previously engaged with formal tax systems.

In line with FBR’s efforts to enhance tax compliance, shopkeepers and traders are encouraged to apply for registration and obtain a National Tax Number Certificate through the Tajir Dost module. The deadline for registration is set for April 30, 2024, providing ample time for eligible businesses to complete the necessary steps.

Currently operational in major cities such as Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Quetta, and Peshawar, the Tajir Dost module is poised to expand its coverage to additional cities in subsequent phases. This expansion aims to ensure that traders and shopkeepers across the country can benefit from the convenience and accessibility offered by the Tax Asaan App.

The Tajir Dost module caters to a diverse range of entities in the supply chain, including wholesalers, retailers, manufacturers, importers, and others involved in the trading business. By providing a centralized platform for tax registration, the module aims to streamline the process and encourage greater participation in the formal economy.

Overall, the introduction of the Tajir Dost module reflects FBR’s commitment to modernizing tax administration and promoting tax compliance among businesses. Through innovative initiatives like the Tax Asaan App, the FBR seeks to create a more inclusive and efficient tax system that supports economic growth and development across Pakistan.
