MobiCell Private Limited has appointed Arif Shafique as its new Managing Director, effective September 24, 2026, marking a new leadership appointment for the company as it continues its activities in Pakistan’s telecom and mobile technology market. The appointment was announced by PhoneWorld, which highlighted Shafique’s more than 35 years of professional experience, including 23 years of experience in the telecommunications sector. His career has included leadership roles associated with major global technology and mobile brands, including Nokia and Lenovo, giving him extensive exposure to the handset and telecom ecosystem.

Shafique’s professional background spans channel distribution, product strategy, sales, market development and business leadership. His public professional profile reflects a long association with the mobile handset industry and includes experience with Nokia and HMD Global, while industry coverage has also highlighted his two-decade journey in the mobile phone sector. His work has involved developing market strategies, managing industry relationships and working with distribution and channel partners across Pakistan. These experiences are expected to form an important part of his responsibilities as he takes charge of MobiCell as Managing Director.

The appointment comes at a time when Pakistan’s mobile device and telecommunications market continues to involve changing consumer demand, evolving distribution models and increased competition among technology brands and channel partners. MobiCell operates within this wider mobile ecosystem, where product availability, distribution networks, market positioning and relationships with business partners remain important factors. With Shafique’s experience across these areas, his new role is expected to focus on guiding MobiCell’s business direction, strengthening its market operations and managing the company’s next phase of development.

Shafique’s appointment also adds an experienced telecom industry executive to MobiCell’s leadership as the company moves forward with its business plans. His more than two decades of telecom-sector experience includes exposure to international brands and Pakistan’s mobile device market, while his broader professional career spans more than three decades. PhoneWorld described the appointment as part of MobiCell’s plans for its next phase of growth, with Shafique bringing expertise in channel distribution, product strategy and market leadership to the position.
