As we are aware that coronavirus is although not so deadly but it is highly contagious. All over the world, it has been proved difficult to control the spread of the virus, yet only social distancing is the only solution to it. Pakistani computer scientist, Dr. Umar Saif, urged higher authorities in Pakistan and worldwide to adopt cutting edge practices as Coronavirus spreads vigorously throughout Pakistan and takes hospitals and health staff under pressure.
On Thursday saif tweeted a six-step picture that can help us to combat the pandemic. The approach uses mobile technology to track people affected by the virus to allow the fast process of detection and provide medical services immediately.
“My proposal on how to use technology for tracking and containing the Corona outbreaks in a targeted approach without inundating the hospitals,” Saif said in the tweet..
As per the plan outlined in the picture, call data records (CDRs) of the diagnosed patients should be used to track their interaction over the past 2 weeks and thus identify probable patients of the virus who could have been infected due to meeting with them. This can allow knowing where the patient has visited in the last two weeks and identify them.
When people are successfully identified the next steps would be aware and advise them to maintain social distance and keep a track of their symptoms. This approach can help identify Coronavirus patients more effectively and may limit the spread of the disease if treated immediately, as per the instructions of digital health experts.
