Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are advancing their strategic digital partnership with the launch of the GO AI Hub Pakistan, set to take place later this month. The initiative, led by Saudi Arabia’s GO Telecommunications Group in collaboration with Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT), marks a significant step toward deeper cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and infrastructure development between Riyadh and Islamabad.
The announcement was made during a meeting in Riyadh between Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja and executives from GO Group. Discussions focused on the potential for broader collaboration in developing data centers, training technical talent, and expanding digital infrastructure across Pakistan. Both parties emphasized the importance of building a shared ecosystem that supports innovation-driven growth and enhances regional connectivity through technology integration and AI-enabled solutions.
The GO AI Hub is envisioned as a comprehensive platform for advancing artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data science collaboration. It will serve as a bridge for research partnerships, knowledge exchange, and the co-creation of digital solutions relevant to both public and private sectors. By fostering capacity building and encouraging skill development in emerging technologies, the initiative aims to empower Pakistani professionals to engage with global digital trends while attracting international investment in the local technology ecosystem. GO Group’s involvement brings with it extensive expertise in digital transformation and AI adoption, positioning the initiative as a catalyst for expanding Pakistan’s participation in the global AI landscape.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja commended GO Group’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda, noting that the collaboration aligns with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s “Digital Nation Vision Pakistan.” This national framework seeks to transform Pakistan into a regional technology hub by enabling advanced research, innovation-led growth, and the creation of high-value digital services. She emphasized that partnerships like these strengthen Pakistan’s ties with friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia while driving mutual progress in technological capacity and innovation.
The official inauguration of the GO AI Hub Pakistan is scheduled for October 2025 and is expected to draw senior government officials, industry leaders, and technology experts from both countries. The hub will operate as a cornerstone for Pakistan-Saudi cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital economy initiatives, creating new pathways for innovation and strengthening bilateral collaboration in the technology sector.
