UIT University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with GleeGather (Pvt.) Ltd to formalise a working relationship aimed at strengthening student training, skills development, internships, and industry focused learning across the university’s engineering and technology programmes. Rather than covering a single limited engagement, the agreement spans several distinct programme areas, positioning it as a long term framework for collaboration between the two organisations. Officials from both sides framed the partnership as part of a wider effort to connect classroom instruction with the practical demands students face once they move into the job market.
Under the terms of the collaboration, GleeGather will support UIT University through a broad set of activities, including trainings, certifications, and workshops designed to build technical competence outside the standard curriculum. The agreement also covers internships and Supervised Industrial Training placements, giving students structured, hands on exposure to real workplace environments during their studies. Beyond these direct training components, GleeGather has committed to contributing toward curriculum enhancement, helping ensure that what students learn in the classroom stays aligned with current industry practice. The MoU further includes provisions for technical competitions, industrial visits, and mentorship programmes, each intended to give students additional touchpoints with professionals working in technology and engineering fields. Notably, the partnership also introduces scholarships and fellowships for students, adding a financial support dimension that goes beyond the more typical training and internship arrangements found in similar academic industry agreements.
Representatives from UIT University and GleeGather described the collaboration as an opportunity to help students build practical skills, gain meaningful exposure to industry settings, and prepare more effectively for careers in technology and engineering.
