SECP has reported a significant surge in new company registrations for the fiscal year 2023-24. A total of 27,542 companies were incorporated, bringing the overall number of registered companies to 222,697.
Private limited companies dominated the registrations, accounting for 58% of the total, followed by single-member companies at 39%. The IT sector emerged as the leading industry in terms of new company formations, with 4,129 registrations.
Other sectors witnessing substantial growth include trading, services, real estate, and tourism. Additionally, there has been a notable increase in company registrations in e-commerce, corporate agricultural farming, and marketing and advertising.
Foreign investment also played a significant role, with China being the top investor, followed by the United States and Afghanistan. A total of 31 foreign companies established their presence in Pakistan during the fiscal year.
The SECP’s data underscores a positive trend in entrepreneurship and business activity across various sectors of the economy.
