Vodafone Qatar and Mowasalat (Karwa) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration in connectivity, data and analytics, customer engagement and digital solutions. The agreement builds on the companies’ existing relationship and establishes a framework for identifying new technologies and services that can support Mowasalat’s evolving operational and customer requirements.

Under the MoU, the two organisations will examine opportunities to introduce digital services and data-driven solutions across relevant areas of their operations. The collaboration is intended to support smarter and more connected mobility services while giving Mowasalat flexibility to adopt technologies based on future business needs. Potential areas include connectivity services, data analytics and digital solutions that could improve operational efficiency and the experience of passengers and other users.

Mohamed Mohsin Alyafei, Enterprise Business Unit Director at Vodafone Qatar, said the agreement provides a foundation for longer-term collaboration with Mowasalat. He said the framework would allow both sides to explore connectivity, data and digital services as business requirements evolve. D. Hamed Elias Al Shaibani, Executive Director ITC at Mowasalat, said digital innovation is an important part of the company’s move toward smarter and more connected mobility, with data-driven technologies expected to support operations and passenger services.

The partnership aligns with Qatar’s broader digital transformation and smart mobility efforts, while giving the two companies room to assess practical applications of emerging technologies. However, the MoU does not announce a specific new product, investment amount, technology deployment or implementation timeline. Any future digital services or solutions will depend on opportunities identified by Vodafone Qatar and Mowasalat as they continue their collaboration.
