Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITeS (PASHA) has announced its newly elected Central Executive Committee (CEC) for the 2026-28 term, with Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan confirmed as Chairman, Wahab Yunus as Senior Vice Chairman, and Samad Saleem as Vice Chairman. The CEC also includes Ahmed Javed Vaseer, Faisal Kamiran, Fatima Asad-Said, Khushnood Aftab, Muhammad Zohaib Khan, M. Azam Mughal, Shawana Iftikhar, Shaikh Ayaz Ali, and Syed Junaid Ahmad as committee members. The committee was elected following voting held on September 17 at polling stations in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, with Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan and Muhammad Zohaib Khan both former PASHA chairmen now sitting together on the new slate.
The announcement comes against the backdrop of a leadership dispute that had unsettled the association earlier this year. On August 28, the Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO) declared a no-confidence resolution against then-Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed null and void, restoring him as chairman for the remainder of his 2024-26 term and withdrawing acting charge that had previously been assigned to Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Umair Nizam. That episode had tested the association’s internal governance processes in the months leading up to this year’s scheduled CEC elections, making the smooth completion of the September 17 vote and subsequent confirmation of results a notable return to PASHA’s regular leadership transition cycle.
The newly elected CEC comprises seven members from the corporate class, three from the associate class, and two on women-reserved seats, a composition structure PASHA has maintained across recent election cycles to ensure representation across different categories of membership. September 17’s results were initially provisional, with final confirmation set to follow at PASHA’s Annual General Meeting on September 30, 2026, meaning this announcement effectively formalizes the committee’s standing ahead of that AGM date. PASHA described the new CEC as bringing together industry leaders who will contribute to advancing the association’s mandate across its various policy, skills development, and industry promotion initiatives.
PASHA said the committee remains committed to building Pakistan’s position as a globally competitive technology destination, a goal the association has pursued through its various ongoing initiatives, including the PASHA ICT Awards, skills roundtables on AI workforce transformation, and continued engagement with government bodies on IT sector policy. With Dr Shoab Ahmed Khan now returning to the chairmanship after a previous term, and several CEC members carrying over institutional experience from past committees, the new leadership team inherits an association navigating both the internal governance questions raised by this year’s leadership dispute and PASHA’s broader external mandate of representing Pakistan’s IT and ITeS industry across policy, trade, and skills development fronts simultaneously.
