P@SHA & Facebook Organize Privacy & Data Protection Event

The Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA) organized event called ‘Privacy and Data Protection’ in collaboration with Facebook. The event took place in Karachi today, on the 22nd of November from 10am to 2pm, inviting senior decision makers from IT, Telecom and the ITeS sectors.

The event opened with a welcome note delivered by Secretary General of the association, Shehryar Hydri, followed by a Keynote Address by Arianne Jimenez, Privacy & Public Manager for APAC Region at Facebook.

The event hosted two panel discussions, whereby the discussion on Privacy Laws on Pakistan’s Tech Industry and Key Issues with the Data Protection Policy were discussed in detail.

The first panel discussion was moderated by Arianne Jimenez – Facebook, with panelists including Adam Dawood – Head of Yayvo, Misbah Naqvi – Invest2innovate, Shahzad Shahid – CEO TPS and Ali Sameer – CEO, TPL E-Ventures.

After a brief interactive session with the audience, the second panel discussion took place, moderated by Co- Founder Bolo Bhi, Farieha Aziz. Panelists on board included Asif Peer –Managing Director at Systems Ltd., Jehan Ara – Big Bird, The Nest i/O and President P@SHA, Imran Khan – CEO, RapidCompute – Lakson Group and Nasir Ayyaz – Ex Director Legal, Ministry of Information Technology, Pakistan.

The event concluded after an interactive session between the speakers and attendees, followed by lunch and networking.
