IEEE CTSoc UET Taxila has organized an informative session on the implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila. The session is being presented by the Consumer Technology Society (CTSoc) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), in collaboration with the IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) and Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Joint Student Branch Chapter of the university. It was scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2026, from 2:00 PM onwards, and the venue was the Lecture Hall of the Electronics Department at UET Taxila. The announcement was shared by the student chapters, which invited students and faculty to take part.

The speaker at the session is Engr. Dr. Syed Zohaib Hassan Naqvi, who serves as Director UG, ENCD at UET Taxila. The organizers described him as a distinguished speaker, and they said that participants would be able to explore several parts of the model of education that is known as OBE. These include curriculum design, learning outcomes, assessment strategies and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI). The topics cover the main stages of an outcome based programme, from the way a course is planned to the way that student performance is measured and the way that results are used to improve the programme in later years.

OBE is an approach in which a degree programme is organized around what students are expected to know and to be able to do at the end of their studies, and the topics listed for the session follow that approach. Curriculum design deals with the structure of courses, learning outcomes describe the expected results for students, assessment strategies show how those results are checked, and CQI refers to the process of reviewing and improving the programme on a regular basis. By bringing these topics into one session, the organizers have given students and faculty members an overview of the elements that an institution needs to consider when it applies the model in its engineering programmes.

Participants could register for the session through the registration link that the organizers shared, and they could also join a WhatsApp group to receive updates. The announcement was issued jointly by IEEE CTSoc and the IEEE SPS and EMBS Joint Student Branch Chapter at UET Taxila. The session shows that student chapters at the university are holding academic events on teaching and quality as well as on technical subjects, and it gave attendees an opportunity to hear from a senior member of the university who is directly involved in undergraduate education.
