In a groundbreaking move towards inclusivity, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has unveiled a helpline dedicated to facilitating the issuance of computerized national identity cards (CNICs) at people’s doorsteps, particularly focusing on enhancing accessibility for individuals with disabilities, an official revealed.

This innovative initiative aims to tackle the hurdles faced by people with disabilities in obtaining crucial identity documentation, marking a significant stride towards ensuring their full integration into society.

According to the official, this initiative has revolutionized the CNIC acquisition process, simplifying it and enhancing convenience, especially for individuals with disabilities.

The home-based CNIC issuance service is designed to assist those with disabilities who encounter challenges in visiting NADRA registration centers due to mobility constraints or other physical limitations. NADRA officials will personally visit their residences to collect necessary documents, record biometric data, and issue CNICs, ensuring equitable access to this vital identity document for all, regardless of physical challenges.

The official emphasized that the Special Helpline 1777 acts as a centralized support hub for individuals with disabilities, offering comprehensive assistance and guidance on NADRA’s services, including the procedure for home-based CNIC issuance.

This initiative underscores NADRA’s unwavering commitment to inclusivity and its dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities. By bringing identity card services directly to their homes, NADRA aims to eliminate barriers and ensure seamless societal participation for everyone, the official emphasized.

Beyond mere convenience, the significance of this initiative lies in its contribution to fostering a more inclusive and equitable society. It reflects a broader societal commitment to upholding principles of dignity, equality, and social justice for all community members, regardless of abilities.
