Lenovo has officially launched the ThinkPad P14s Gen 7, a refreshed version of its compact 14-inch workstation that brings a notable set of upgrades aimed squarely at professionals and power users. The new machine is built on AMD’s Gorgon Point platform and is designed for those who need workstation-level hardware in a relatively portable form factor. It comes at a time when memory availability and pricing continue to be a talking point across the global tech market, making the sheer scale of its RAM options particularly striking for a laptop of this size.
The ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 is offered with two processor choices at launch: the AMD Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440 and the more capable Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 470. On the memory side, Lenovo has gone well beyond what most laptops in this class offer, with DDR5-5600 configurations starting at 16GB and scaling through multiple tiers including 24GB, 32GB, 40GB, 48GB, 56GB, 64GB, 80GB, and all the way up to 96GB. For storage, the laptop can be configured with PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 solid-state drives with capacities reaching 2TB. On the display front, buyers can choose between a standard 1200p IPS panel running at 60Hz and a more premium 2.8K OLED screen with a 120Hz variable refresh rate, covering 100 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space, which makes it well suited for engineers, content creators, and designers who require accurate colour reproduction alongside raw compute performance.
Battery options include a standard 60Wh unit, with an optional 75Wh pack available for users who need extended runtime away from a power source. Connectivity is equally well-considered for a machine targeting mobile professionals. The ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 can be configured with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X61 sub-6GHz 5G module and includes a full suite of ports such as USB-A, Thunderbolt 4, HDMI, RJ-45 Ethernet, a headphone jack, Nano-SIM support, and a smart card reader, covering most enterprise use cases without the need for additional docking hardware. The entire chassis starts at just 1.29 kg, measuring 313.6 x 221.7 x 15.93 mm, which is a reasonable footprint for a machine carrying specifications that would typically be associated with a much larger desktop replacement.
The ThinkPad P14s Gen 7 is currently available in parts of Europe and Australia, with pricing starting at around $2,657 in the United Kingdom for the base Ryzen AI 5 Pro 440 configuration with 16GB of RAM. In Australia, the same configuration begins at approximately $2,129, while Eurozone pricing sits between $2,406 and $2,745 depending on the market. Lenovo has not yet announced availability or pricing for other regions, though given the breadth of the configuration options and the enterprise focus of the ThinkPad line, a broader rollout is expected in the months ahead.
