Apple is reportedly preparing a major redesign for its entry-level MacBook Pro, with the refreshed model expected to arrive in the first half of 2027. According to industry reports, the upcoming 14-inch laptop will introduce the first significant visual overhaul for the base MacBook Pro in several years, aligning its appearance with Apple’s next-generation MacBook lineup. While Apple has not officially confirmed the device, the reported redesign suggests the company is preparing a broader refresh of its Mac portfolio as it continues advancing its Apple Silicon roadmap.

The redesigned MacBook Pro is expected to retain its 14-inch display while adopting a more modern chassis inspired by Apple’s future premium MacBooks. Reports indicate that the company is refining both the exterior design and internal architecture to deliver a thinner, lighter and more efficient laptop. The device is also expected to debut with Apple’s next-generation M7 chip, which is anticipated to provide notable improvements in processing power, energy efficiency and on-device artificial intelligence capabilities. The upgraded chipset is likely to enhance performance across productivity tasks, creative workloads and AI-powered features that are becoming increasingly central to Apple’s ecosystem.

Before introducing the redesigned model, Apple is reportedly planning to refresh the existing entry-level MacBook Pro with the M6 processor while retaining its current design. This interim update is expected to serve as a bridge until the redesigned model is ready for launch. The approach follows Apple’s recent strategy of delivering annual processor upgrades while spacing out major hardware redesigns over longer product cycles. By combining incremental performance improvements with periodic design changes, Apple aims to maintain the MacBook Pro’s competitiveness in the premium laptop market.

The redesigned MacBook Pro is also expected to launch alongside updated iPad Pro models as part of Apple’s broader hardware refresh. The company is believed to be focusing heavily on integrating more advanced AI capabilities into future devices, supported by increasingly powerful Apple Silicon processors. If the reported timeline remains unchanged, the refreshed MacBook Pro will represent one of Apple’s most significant laptop updates in recent years, offering users a combination of modern design, enhanced performance and improved intelligence features for professional and everyday computing.
