Health Services Academy (HSA), Islamabad, has successfully concluded the recruitment screening and skill tests for 85 technical and support positions across 21 categories under the Health Information and Service Delivery Unit (HISDU), Health Department, Government of Balochistan. A total of 2,914 candidates submitted applications for these positions, out of which 681 were shortlisted, and 360 candidates ultimately appeared for the final knowledge and skill assessments conducted over four days.
A key highlight of the exercise, conducted from August 3 to 6, was the end to end digital and paperless system used throughout the process, which processed and compiled results for each paper within just 30 minutes of completion before submitting them to the Balochistan government. This initiative reflects the vision of Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar and Health Secretary Mujeeb ur Rehman Panezai toward institutional merit and digitalization within the province’s health sector recruitment processes. Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan and the direct supervision of Controller of Examinations Nadeem Sajjad Kayani, HSA’s examination and technical teams developed the advanced testing framework to ensure the health sector is equipped with a highly skilled workforce.
To guarantee complete transparency and rigorous evaluation, candidates underwent both theoretical knowledge assessments and practical skill tests. For the first time in HSA’s history, the tests were conducted in a fully paperless format featuring secure QR code candidate verification and automated, machine based processing designed to eliminate manual bias from the evaluation process. According to HSA, the process was executed seamlessly, with zero complaints received regarding arrangements, conduct, or result processing throughout or after the exercise.
HSA provided these modern testing services and technical infrastructure to the Government of Balochistan completely free of cost, describing the initiative as part of its institutional commitment to promoting transparency and meritocracy in the public sector. Following the completion of all testing stages, the academy has formally handed over the finalized results and merit lists to the Government of Balochistan for further processing, marking one of the more structured digital recruitment exercises carried out for a provincial health department in recent years.
