Lahore Development Authority Launch Insaf Portal

Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is responsible for new planned development in Lahore, Pakistan. It also regulates and issues permits for new construction and housing projects, private houses, and commercial development. It also manages Lahore’s parks and green areas. They primarily work in three areas of wings i.e Urban Development Wing, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and Traffic Engineering Planning Agency (TEPA). Recently, the LDA have announced the launch of the LDA Insaf Portal.

The LDA Insaf Web Portal and mobile application that aims to facilitate citizens to register their applications without an worry of waiting in ques amidst the spread of Covid-19 through their portal. Speaking at the launch of the LDA Insaf portal, Usman Buzdar who serves as the Punjab Chief Minister, stated that this initiative is a vital step for redressal of citizens’ complaints and ensuring their safety in the process. They also plan to set up an appointment system that can be used to visit the LDA office with its help.

One of the aims of the Insaf portal website is that it will facilitate online submission of numerous types of applications, while at the same time, be able to set up court orders with ease as well. Since citizens can have their queries answered through this portal, it can make this entire process much easier. Ahmed Aziz, LDA Director General, recently announced and gave away a cheque amounting to PKR 2.7 million to the Chief Minister for the Corona Relief Fund. 

The Punjab Government have gone out to launch various other platforms or applications as well. This primarily includes an education app called Taleem Ghar that works to help students in continuing their academic activities amidst the pandemic. The other work includes launching a cable television channel and a website under this education project that caters to students enrolled in Class I to Class VIII.
