The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) successfully concluded its 7th GAIN Online Awareness & Engagement Session, titled “Empowering Pakistan’s Next Tech Wave: Generative AI and Entrepreneurship.” The session provided an in-depth exploration of emerging opportunities in the Generative AI era and highlighted strategic pathways for Pakistani companies and young professionals to engage with global AI trends.

The session was led by Mohammad Anwar Khan, a Silicon Valley veteran and AI pioneer with over four decades of experience in artificial intelligence and financial technology. Drawing on his extensive background, Mr. Khan emphasized the transformative potential of Generative AI, describing it as a “lifetime opportunity” for Pakistan’s youth and the broader technology sector. He urged participants to recognize the rapidly growing global demand for AI expertise and to actively engage in initiatives that enhance their skills and prepare them to participate in the international tech economy.

During the session, participants were introduced to a three-phase “Strategic Roadmap” designed to guide Pakistani companies in adopting AI-driven innovation. The roadmap consists of: (i) Skill Up, focusing on developing core AI and digital skills among employees; (ii) Internal Pilot, encouraging organizations to test AI solutions and explore their practical applications; and (iii) Productize, translating successful pilots into scalable, market-ready products. Mr. Khan stressed that Pakistan’s most valuable resource is its youth, and national training initiatives play a critical role in preparing young talent to meet the challenges and opportunities of this new technological era.

The 7th GAIN session forms part of GAIN Cohort 1, which is currently hosting Sessions 7 and 8, bringing together forward-looking discussions on AI, entrepreneurship, frontier technologies, and advanced engineering. The series is designed to help participants understand how emerging technologies can be leveraged to strengthen Pakistan’s competitiveness in the global technology landscape. Conversations in the session also focused on building scalable innovation, attracting smart investment, and creating an ecosystem where local startups can thrive while expanding into international markets.

Participants gained insight into global AI spending patterns within the IT sector, exploring how Pakistani companies can strategically position themselves to benefit from international trends. By combining practical advice with visionary guidance, the session encouraged startups, entrepreneurs, and young professionals to take proactive steps in adopting AI technologies. The dialogue emphasized the importance of ethical application, informed decision-making, and continuous learning as Pakistan transitions into a technology-driven economy.

The GAIN sessions reflect PSEB’s commitment to empowering young professionals, supporting startups, and fostering an innovation ecosystem capable of driving Pakistan’s digital transformation. By providing access to expert-led guidance, structured roadmaps, and global best practices, these sessions equip participants with the tools and insights required to engage with emerging technologies effectively. The initiative also underscores the critical role of youth engagement in ensuring Pakistan remains at the forefront of global AI development and entrepreneurship.

Through platforms like GAIN, PSEB continues to nurture a new generation of technology leaders, equipping them with skills, knowledge, and exposure to global trends. By focusing on Generative AI, entrepreneurship, and strategic innovation, the initiative strengthens Pakistan’s position in the international technology landscape and ensures the country is prepared for the next wave of tech-led growth and opportunities.
