Telegram has rolled out a major update across its Android and iOS apps, introducing a redesigned interface, performance enhancements, and new features aimed at improving user experience. On Android, the update brings a fully reworked interface focusing on speed, clarity, and smoother navigation. The most visible change is the new bottom navigation bar, allowing users to access Chats, Settings, Profile, and other tabs with a single tap. The redesign also makes searches faster and everyday actions more intuitive.
Beyond visual improvements, Telegram rebuilt the interface code to boost efficiency and responsiveness. Users should notice quicker screen loads and smoother scrolling. The app now includes a Power Saving mode accessible via Settings, which can further enhance performance while extending battery life.
For iOS, Telegram has upgraded the media viewer, improving the display of photos and videos. The update also introduces new preview panels for sticker and emoji packs, updated context menus in user profiles, and message selection actions. iPad users gain a new keyboard shortcut, allowing them to send messages instantly.
The update also enhances group management features. When a group owner leaves a chat, ownership is automatically transferred to an admin after one week. Before leaving, owners see a confirmation window that allows them to select a new owner or transfer control to another member without exiting the chat. These changes simplify group administration and prevent disruptions when owners leave.
Telegram is also introducing a collectible gift crafting system. Users can combine existing gifts to create upgraded versions categorized as Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, each featuring unique artwork and effects. The crafting interface allows up to four gifts to be combined at once, with additional gifts increasing the chance of success. Gifts with similar attributes improve the likelihood of those traits appearing in the final item. Users can buy and sell these collectible gifts through Telegram’s Gift Marketplace, adding a gaming-style layer to the platform.
Bot developers benefit from interface upgrades as well. Telegram now allows the addition of emojis and colors to bot buttons, making them more intuitive and highlighting specific actions.
The update is available for all Telegram users on Android, iPhones, and iPads. To access the new features, users must update the app from the official app store. This release reflects Telegram’s focus on combining functionality, performance, and interactive features to enhance the overall user experience across devices.
