FAST National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, Karachi Campus, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Syslab.ai, a software company known for its engagement with academic institutions. The agreement, signed on 9 February 2026, formalizes a collaborative framework aimed at strengthening ties between academia and industry while creating new opportunities for students and faculty.
The MoU was formally signed by Dr Jawwad A. Shamsi, CEO of Syslab.ai, and Dr Zulfiqar Ali Memon, Director of FAST NUCES Karachi Campus. The ceremony was attended by Mr Azmat Ali Abdi, Project Manager at Syslab.ai, and Mr Sheeraz Ahmed Khan, Officer Coordination at FAST NUCES. The signing reflects a shared commitment to building structured engagement between the university and the technology sector, particularly in areas that directly contribute to student development and applied research exposure.
Through this partnership, both institutions aim to collaborate in areas of mutual interest, with a focus on student internships, industry engagement initiatives, and practical learning experiences. The agreement is designed to help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real world industry practices by providing students with exposure to live projects, professional mentorship, and workplace environments. Such collaborations are increasingly seen as essential in Pakistan’s evolving technology ecosystem, where employers seek graduates equipped not only with theoretical foundations but also hands on experience and problem solving skills.
For FAST NUCES Karachi Campus, the MoU aligns with its broader objective of maintaining strong linkages with the technology industry to ensure that its academic programs remain relevant and responsive to market demands. For Syslab.ai, the collaboration offers access to a pool of emerging talent and opportunities to contribute to curriculum enrichment, knowledge exchange, and innovation driven initiatives. Both sides have expressed optimism about building a productive and impactful partnership that supports student growth, encourages industry readiness, and contributes to the wider development of Pakistan’s software and technology landscape.
