PITB in partnership with Punjab Excise and Taxation Department, has launched the registration process for its February 2025 e-Auction of premium vehicle numbers. This initiative provides an online platform for interested individuals to participate in the auction, offering an innovative and transparent way to acquire attractive motorcycle and car number plates. Registration for the e-Auction will remain open until March 2, 2025, and can be done through the e-Auction App or the official Web Portal.
The e-Auction System has been designed to allow users to bid for unique vehicle numbers, providing a hassle-free process that can be accessed from the comfort of their homes. By offering detailed information about successful bids through the app, this system ensures transparency, making the entire auction process more streamlined and accessible to the public. The system facilitates the auction of both motorcycle and car number plates, providing ample opportunity for citizens to secure numbers of their choice.
To further enhance the user experience, the e-Auction platform includes additional features such as a tax calculator and vehicle verification system. These tools enable users to estimate the applicable taxes and verify their vehicles, making the overall process more user-friendly and informative.
Faisal Yousaf, Chairman of PITB, emphasized the transformative impact of the new e-Auction System. “The e-Auction System has transformed the process by promoting transparency, eradicating corruption, and dismantling the agent mafia. Citizens can now easily register and participate in online bidding to secure their desired number plates,” he stated. His remarks highlight the government’s commitment to reducing intermediaries and creating an open, transparent process for public services.
The e-Auction platform is part of the ongoing digital transformation in Punjab, with PITB spearheading various initiatives aimed at simplifying government processes and increasing citizen participation. This auction system not only streamlines vehicle registration but also reduces the time and effort previously required to obtain premium number plates. As the registration process continues, the e-Auction system is expected to attract a large number of bidders who are eager to secure coveted vehicle numbers. With its transparency and ease of use, this initiative is poised to set a new standard in public service delivery and is likely to be emulated in other provinces in the future.
Interested participants can access the e-Auction app or web portal to register, place their bids, and potentially win premium number plates for their vehicles. The system is expected to bring in greater participation and revenue for the Excise and Taxation Department, further reinforcing the province’s push towards digitizing government services.
