OnePlus appears set to refresh its T series lineup once again, with the OnePlus 15T expected to succeed the 13T that debuted in April last year. However, a new leak emerging from China indicates that users should not anticipate significant changes in the camera department. According to the reported specifications, the upcoming device will retain the same rear camera configuration as its predecessor, suggesting that the company may be prioritising performance and battery improvements over photography upgrades this cycle.

The leak claims that the OnePlus 15T will feature a 50 megapixel primary camera built around Sony’s 1 over 1.56 inch Lytia 700 sensor with optical image stabilisation. Accompanying it will reportedly be a 50 megapixel telephoto camera using Samsung’s 1 over 2.76 inch ISOCELL JN5 sensor. If accurate, the hardware setup mirrors that of the previous model. The only minor adjustment mentioned is a possible change in the telephoto lens aperture from f 2.0 on the 13T to f 2.8 on the new device, while the main camera is expected to retain its f 1.8 aperture. In practical terms, this suggests that the overall imaging experience may remain largely unchanged, which could disappoint users hoping for a more ambitious photography upgrade.

While the camera hardware may stay consistent, earlier reports point toward more meaningful changes under the hood. The OnePlus 15T is rumoured to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 system on chip, which would represent a notable step forward in processing power and efficiency. Such an upgrade could deliver improved gaming performance, smoother multitasking, and enhanced artificial intelligence capabilities. In addition, the handset is said to include the largest battery ever fitted into a smartphone of its size, a claim that could become a central selling point if confirmed. Stronger battery endurance in a compact flagship form factor would help the device stand out in a competitive segment.

On the front, the OnePlus 15T is expected to feature a 6.32 inch AMOLED display with what is described as a 1.5K resolution, keeping it within the compact flagship category. A 16 megapixel front camera is also anticipated for selfies and video calls. For now, these details remain based on early leaks and supply chain reports. Taken together, the information suggests an incremental update rather than a major redesign. If OnePlus delivers meaningful gains in performance and battery life, the 15T may still appeal to buyers even without headline camera improvements.
