NAVTTC Meets UNI INT China To Strengthen TVET Cooperation

Chairman of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC), Engr. Qamar ul Islam Raja, met with an international delegation from UNI INT China at the commission’s headquarters to discuss opportunities for strengthening technical and vocational education and workforce development in Pakistan. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, with both sides exchanging views on developing a skilled workforce equipped to meet the demands of modern industries. Discussions also explored potential areas of collaboration aimed at improving training standards, expanding skill development initiatives and preparing Pakistan’s workforce for emerging technologies and future employment opportunities.

During the meeting, Chairman NAVTTC appreciated UNI INT China’s continued engagement in Pakistan’s skills development landscape and encouraged the organization to further contribute towards building a “Future Ready Pakistan.” He emphasized the importance of international partnerships in modernizing vocational education and introducing global best practices that can enhance the quality and relevance of technical training.

The chairman also highlighted NAVTTC’s commitment to strengthening industry-oriented education and developing human capital capable of supporting Pakistan’s economic growth and global competitiveness. He noted that collaboration with international institutions can help bridge skill gaps, facilitate knowledge exchange and create new opportunities for students and professionals.The Chinese delegation reaffirmed its interest in working closely with NAVTTC to support initiatives that promote technical education and workforce capacity building. Both sides discussed ways to enhance institutional cooperation and explore joint initiatives that could benefit trainees, educators and the broader TVET ecosystem.

The meeting concluded with both organizations agreeing to streamline pathways for future coordination and collaboration. The engagement reflects NAVTTC’s ongoing efforts to build international partnerships that strengthen Pakistan’s vocational education system and prepare its workforce with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
