LUMSx and PepsiCo Pakistan have expanded their collaboration through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Roshan Kal, PepsiCo’s flagship youth development initiative focused on increasing access to learning, skills development and employability opportunities for young people in Pakistan. The partnership will support a new cohort of more than 4,000 learners through Roshan Kal Academy 2026, building on the first phase of the programme that provided more than 4,000 learners with access to LUMSx courses in Business Communication and Artificial Intelligence for Professionals. The latest agreement brings together the academic expertise and technology enabled learning approach of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) with PepsiCo Pakistan’s industry perspective and youth development efforts.
The first phase of the collaboration provided thousands of learners with access to courses designed to develop skills relevant to professional environments. Through LUMSx, participants were able to take courses in Business Communication and Artificial Intelligence for Professionals, giving them opportunities to develop knowledge in areas that are increasingly relevant to education and employment. The completion of the first phase, which reached more than 4,000 learners, has now been followed by plans to bring another cohort of more than 4,000 learners into Roshan Kal Academy 2026. The expansion will continue the focus on learning and skills development while providing a larger group of young people with access to digitally delivered educational opportunities. LUMSx, the online learning platform associated with LUMS, contributes academic content and technology enabled learning, while PepsiCo Pakistan brings an industry perspective to the initiative. The collaboration is intended to connect academic learning with skills that can be useful as young people prepare for professional opportunities and changing workplace requirements.
Roshan Kal is PepsiCo’s flagship youth development initiative and focuses on learning, skills development and employability opportunities. Through its collaboration with LUMSx, the programme is expanding access to courses delivered through a technology enabled learning model, allowing a larger number of learners to participate without relying solely on conventional classroom based education. The Business Communication course addresses skills related to professional communication, while Artificial Intelligence for Professionals introduces learners to an area that is becoming increasingly relevant across different industries. The partnership therefore combines educational content with an industry oriented perspective, giving participants an opportunity to develop skills that can support their academic and professional development. The second cohort of more than 4,000 learners under Roshan Kal Academy 2026 represents a continuation of the programme’s existing approach rather than a separate initiative, with both organizations building on the reach achieved during the first phase.
The renewed collaboration reflects a shared focus by LUMSx and PepsiCo Pakistan on expanding learning opportunities for Pakistan’s youth and supporting their preparation for an evolving professional environment. By combining LUMS’ academic approach and technology enabled learning capabilities with PepsiCo’s experience from the industry, the organizations are continuing a partnership aimed at providing young people with relevant knowledge and skills. Roshan Kal Academy 2026 will bring another 4,000 plus learners into the programme, adding to the more than 4,000 people reached through the initial phase. The collaboration places particular emphasis on learning, skills development and employability, while the inclusion of subjects such as Business Communication and Artificial Intelligence for Professionals reflects the types of capabilities being offered through the LUMSx platform. The new Memorandum of Understanding formalizes the continued collaboration between the two organizations and extends their efforts to provide Pakistani youth with greater access to learning opportunities through a combination of academic expertise, digital education and industry involvement.
