In a remarkable achievement, Maha Yusuf, a Pakistani student hailing from the Jhang district, has become the first Pakistani woman to earn a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in California. Her pioneering research focused on utilizing advanced imaging diagnostic tools to analyze the failure mechanisms of fast-charging lithium-ion batteries.
Maha Yusuf’s academic excellence has garnered recognition beyond her Ph.D. degree. She has been selected by Princeton University in the United States for the prestigious “Presidential Post Doctorate 2023” program, further highlighting her remarkable talent and potential.
Prior to her Ph.D., Maha Yusuf completed her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University in 2017. In 2013, she received her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Pakistan’s NUST University.
Before joining Stanford University, Maha Yusuf gained practical industry experience as a drilling engineer in the oil and gas sector in Colombia. Her commitment to research excellence is evidenced by the publication of seven research papers in esteemed international journals. Additionally, she holds two patents and has received numerous accolades for her contributions to the field of chemical engineering.
