The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has achieved a significant milestone in its mission to strengthen the national IT talent pipeline through the successful onboarding of over 2,400 apprentices in the first and second batches of the SkillBridge Apprenticeship Program. This initiative, which operates under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, is designed to provide fresh IT graduates with critical industry exposure through a structured six-month engagement with leading IT companies across Pakistan. By bridging the gap between academic theory and practical application, the program ensures that the next generation of professionals is industry-ready and equipped with the hands-on experience required by the modern digital economy.
To facilitate this transition for young graduates, the government provides a fully funded monthly stipend of PKR 30,000 for the duration of the apprenticeship. This financial support is intended to make professional development accessible to a wider demographic of talented individuals, allowing them to focus entirely on skill acquisition within high-impact environments. The program has already demonstrated a strong impact on building a skilled workforce, and the successful completion of the initial batches marks a foundational success for the country’s broader human resource development goals in the technology sector.
Following the success of the initial phases, PSEB has announced that Batch 3 of the SkillBridge program is launching soon. This ongoing commitment to talent cultivation remains a key pillar of the “Tech Destination Pakistan” vision, ensuring a steady supply of qualified professionals to support the nation’s growing software export capabilities.
