The Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) hosted a high level CXO Meetup in Karachi on April 17, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and government officials to discuss strategies for accelerating IT exports and advancing Pakistan’s digital transformation agenda. The event served as a platform for collaboration between the public and private sectors, with a strong focus on addressing industry challenges and strengthening Pakistan’s position in global technology markets.

Ali Rashid, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh for Information Technology, attended as Chief Guest and reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to prioritising the IT sector as a key driver of economic growth. He emphasised that the Sindh government views information technology as a backbone of economic progress and is focused on resolving industry concerns on a priority basis. He also highlighted the importance of leveraging P@SHA’s expertise to support digitisation and e-governance initiatives across provincial departments, while stressing that Pakistan must adopt modern technologies such as artificial intelligence to remain competitive globally.

Faisal Jeddy, Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan Software Export Board, participated as a keynote speaker and engaged directly with industry stakeholders on export growth strategies. He announced that foreign companies are now eligible to open Roshan Digital Accounts, a move aimed at facilitating international business engagement and improving access to Pakistan’s technology sector. He further stated that PSEB is working in collaboration with P@SHA to develop a comprehensive roadmap for increasing IT exports, while also focusing on infrastructure development through the establishment of IT parks and provision of modern working environments for technology companies.

Industry leaders at the event underscored the urgency of adopting emerging technologies and improving the overall business environment to attract foreign investment. P@SHA Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence and 5G infrastructure in maintaining global competitiveness, while also stressing that ease of doing business remains a critical factor for securing international clients. The meetup also included discussions on skills development, with officials noting the need for training aligned with global market demands. The engagement concluded with a shared commitment between government and industry stakeholders to strengthen Pakistan’s IT ecosystem, expand exports, and support long term growth in the digital economy.
