Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has chosen to hold an electronic auction which is in line with international standards and also likely to discourage collusive bidding.
The prices are already steep, in order to avoid and discourage collusion. Electronic auction, a standard practice seen all over the world and India, too, preferred this method over the old school loud method of auction during the auction of 3G licenses. 

 

Launching a toolkit to support SMEs

Bank Alfalah and IFC have launched the SME Toolkit in Pakistan, an online solutions platform, which provides best practices and opportunities, to both existing and potential SMEs.
This continued commitment of Bank Alfalah and IFC launch the SME toolkit to strengthen the SME sector in Pakistan, through holistic solutions that offer access to more than just financial services. The SME Toolkit is available for free at www.pakistan.smetoolkit.org, offering tools and expert advice on how to start, run and grow a business, as lack of access to relevant information and expertise is one of the key constraints holding back the growth of SMEs in Pakistan.
