Pakistan IT Industry Association (P@SHA) has held a meeting with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to discuss collaboration between the information technology (IT) industry and the trade development initiatives of the country. The meeting took place on October 29, and it was announced by the association under the title P@SHA x TDAP. P@SHA described the meeting as a step towards better industry collaboration. The discussion brought together representatives of the association and the leadership of the trade promotion body, and it gave both sides a chance to look at ways in which they could work together on matters that concern the IT sector and its exports.
The delegation of P@SHA was led by Samad Saleem, Vice Chairman and Brand and Global Outreach Chair of the association, and Shaikh Ayaz Ali, Central Executive Committee (CEC) Member and Industry Engagement Chair. They were accompanied by Kheezran Khan, Director Marketing and Outreach at P@SHA. The choice of members who work on global outreach and industry engagement shows the focus of the association in the meeting, since these roles deal with the promotion of the industry abroad and with the relations between the association and other institutions.
On the side of TDAP, the delegation met Faiz Ahmed, Chief Executive of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, and Rafia Syed, Director General Punjab. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss areas of mutual interest, to explore opportunities for collaboration and to improve ties between the IT industry of Pakistan and the initiatives of trade development. The announcement did not list specific programmes, agreements or dates that came out of the discussion, so the details of any joint work are still to be announced by the two organizations.
P@SHA said that it continues to engage with key institutions in order to support the development and growth of the IT sector of the country. The post acknowledged Tech Destination Pakistan, and it was shared with hashtags that include PASHA, TDAP, IndustryCollaboration, ITIndustry and DigitalPakistan. The meeting with the chief executive of TDAP and the director general for Punjab adds to the contacts that the association has been holding with government bodies, and it places the trade promotion authority among the institutions with which the IT industry is exploring cooperation.
