Gilgit-Baltistan’s youngest and fastest-rising vlogger, Muhammad Shiraz, has suffered a significant setback as his Instagram account, which had amassed over 2.1 million followers, was unexpectedly suspended. The sudden removal of his account has sparked concern among his fans and the wider digital community, as questions arise about content regulations for young influencers on social media platforms.

The news of Shiraz’s Instagram suspension was shared through a video on his popular YouTube channel, Shirazi Village Vlogs, which boasts 1.76 million subscribers. In the video, Shiraz’s father, Muhammad Taqi, expressed his shock and frustration, stating that the account was taken down without any prior warning or explanation. Describing the situation as “profoundly troubling,” he stressed the hard work that had gone into building Shiraz’s social media presence, emphasizing that it was not simply an overnight success but rather the result of years of dedicated effort.

According to Taqi, he received an email at around 1 AM on January 27, 2025, notifying him of the account suspension. He immediately submitted an appeal, but within hours, the account had vanished entirely. “It’s a common perception that Shiraz gained overnight fame, and to some extent, that may be true. But behind the scenes, it took two to three years of my hard work to get him to this level,” he explained.

More than just a social media milestone, Instagram was a key source of income for the young vlogger through paid promotions. “Instagram was extremely important for us,” Taqi stated, underscoring the financial impact of losing the account. He speculated that the suspension might have been due to Instagram’s strict policies regarding child influencers, particularly its approach to accounts managed by or featuring minors.

Additionally, Taqi pointed out another challenge they have been facing on YouTube, where their content has been categorized as Made for Kids, a classification that significantly limits visibility and engagement. “Shiraz used to get millions of views on YouTube, but now his views have significantly dropped due to the platform’s algorithm, which restricts content created by kids to child audiences only,” he explained. He advised other content creators featuring children to incorporate a mix of adult-oriented content to avoid similar issues.

Despite his disappointment, Taqi shared that a friend is actively working to recover the Instagram account, though he admitted to losing hope in retrieving it. He expressed his gratitude to the supporters who have reached out in solidarity, acknowledging that Shiraz’s journey as a young vlogger is far from over.

Shiraz and his younger sister, Muskaan, who frequently appears in his videos, hail from the Siachin sector of Gilgit-Baltistan. Their heartwarming content showcasing the simple yet vibrant life in their village has won the hearts of millions. His imperfect yet endearing Urdu, combined with his genuine storytelling, offers a rare and authentic glimpse into rural life in northern Pakistan.

Within a remarkably short time, Shiraz’s content has garnered millions of followers, turning him into one of Pakistan’s most beloved young vloggers. While the loss of his Instagram account is a major blow, his fans remain hopeful that he will find a way to continue sharing his charming and inspiring journey with the world.
