At Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, Thunder Energy Ltd, an AI-powered energy intelligence platform provider and a subsidiary of Brillanz Group, signed a MoU with Nokia in a landmark partnership aimed at revolutionizing energy management solutions for telecom infrastructure. This collaboration focuses on optimizing energy consumption across passive telecom networks, particularly in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, using artificial intelligence and data analytics to drive efficiency and sustainability.

With global telecom networks facing increasing energy demands and environmental concerns, this strategic alliance aims to introduce AI-driven automation, real-time monitoring, and predictive analytics to help operators enhance network efficiency while reducing operational costs and carbon emissions. Thunder Energy’s proprietary platform, designed to deliver intelligent energy management, will be integrated into telecom infrastructure with support from Nokia’s extensive industry expertise and market presence. The collaboration seeks to enable telecom operators to streamline power usage, minimize waste, and ensure network reliability by leveraging advanced analytics and automation.

The MoU establishes a framework for the two companies to jointly explore business opportunities in energy monitoring, control, and management within the telecom sector. Nokia will play a key role in expanding the adoption of Thunder Energy’s solutions by leveraging its relationships with telecom operators, tower companies, and regulatory bodies. By promoting the deployment of AI-powered energy intelligence across key markets, Nokia aims to support industry-wide efforts to achieve greater sustainability and operational resilience.

Thunder Energy, in turn, will provide its technical expertise and resources to facilitate seamless integration of its platform into telecom operations. This includes offering training programs, conducting market assessments, and continuously enhancing the platform’s capabilities to align with evolving industry needs. The partnership is built on a shared vision of creating a robust energy intelligence ecosystem that empowers telecom networks to operate more efficiently while contributing to global sustainability goals.

Speaking at the signing ceremony in Barcelona, Bilal Qureshi, CEO of Brillanz Group, emphasized the transformative potential of the collaboration, highlighting how AI-driven solutions can help telecom operators navigate growing energy challenges.

“The collaboration with Nokia reinforces our mission to drive AI-powered efficiency in telecom infrastructure. With energy consumption being a critical challenge for telecom operators globally, Thunder Energy’s intelligent platform is designed to deliver actionable insights and automation that significantly reduce operational costs and carbon emissions. By joining forces with Nokia, we are paving the way for a smarter and greener future for the telecom industry.”

Danial Mausoof, Mobile Networks Vice President of Technology, Solutions and Services at Nokia in MEA, echoed this sentiment, stressing the importance of energy efficiency in modern telecom networks.

“Energy efficiency is at the core of Nokia’s strategy to enable sustainable networks. By partnering with Thunder Energy, we are bringing AI-driven energy intelligence to telecom operators in high-growth markets, ensuring they can achieve greater network efficiency while meeting their sustainability targets.”

The announcement comes at a time when telecom operators worldwide are increasingly focusing on reducing their carbon footprints while maintaining robust and scalable network infrastructure. With rapid digital transformation and the expansion of 5G networks, energy consumption has become a major concern for the industry. AI-powered platforms like Thunder Energy offer a proactive approach to tackling this challenge by optimizing power usage through intelligent automation and predictive analytics.

The collaboration between Thunder Energy and Nokia represents a significant step forward in advancing energy transformation across telecom networks. By combining Nokia’s global reach and technological expertise with Thunder Energy’s cutting-edge AI solutions, the partnership sets the stage for a more efficient, resilient, and sustainable telecom sector. As operators continue to navigate the complexities of energy management in an increasingly connected world, this alliance positions both companies as key players in shaping the future of telecom energy intelligence.
