The Hunar Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding with Transsion Tecno Motors to launch an EV Bike Technician Course at the Hunar Karigar Technical Institute, marking a step toward preparing Pakistani youth for the growing electric mobility sector. The agreement introduces a dedicated training program aimed at equipping students with the technical skills needed to service and maintain electric bikes as demand for such vehicles continues to rise across the country.

The partnership comes as global transportation trends shift toward sustainable and electric alternatives, prompting a need for a workforce trained specifically in electric vehicle technology rather than conventional combustion engines. Through the new course, students at the institute will gain hands on training designed to align with the technical requirements of the electric mobility industry, giving them access to a skill set that is increasingly sought after in Pakistan’s evolving automotive and transport sectors.

Officials from the Hunar Foundation said the collaboration with Transsion Tecno Motors goes beyond simply introducing a new academic offering, describing it as an effort to build career pathways for young people while supporting the broader development of Pakistan’s green economy. The course is intended to help address the shortage of technicians trained in electric vehicle maintenance, a gap that has grown alongside the increasing adoption of electric bikes in urban centers across the country.

The initiative reflects a wider trend among vocational training institutes in Pakistan to align their curricula with emerging industries, as traditional technical education programs increasingly incorporate modules related to renewable energy, electric mobility, and green technology. By partnering with an established name in the electric vehicle space, the Hunar Foundation aims to ensure that graduates of the new program are equipped with practical, industry relevant experience that can translate directly into employment opportunities within the expanding electric bike and mobility sector.
