Tech Valley Pakistan, in partnership with Google, has conducted a Digital Sahafat 3.0 training session for more than 75 next generation media professionals in Mansehra, providing participants with practical exposure to artificial intelligence tools used in modern media and journalism. The training was conducted under the Shiraz Mahmood Qureshi Foundation and brought together students and media professionals from different institutions and organizations in the region. Participants included students from Hazara University and Government Degree College, along with employees from Hazara Express News.
During the session, participants received hands-on training in a range of Google tools, including Google Gemini, Canvas and Gemini Notebook. The programme focused on introducing participants to artificial intelligence based tools that can support different activities within media and journalism. By providing practical exposure rather than limiting the session to theoretical discussions, the training gave participants an opportunity to understand how these tools can be used in their professional and educational activities. The participation of students alongside working media professionals also brought together people at different stages of their careers, with the programme aimed at introducing emerging media talent to technologies that are increasingly being incorporated into newsroom and content production workflows.
The session also featured remarks from Shiraz Mahmood Qureshi Foundation Chief Executive Officer Umar Farooq, senior journalist Raza Khan and Hazara Express News Chief Executive Officer Sher Afzal Gujjar. During the training, the speakers highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence knowledge for professionals working in modern media. Their comments focused on the role of artificial intelligence skills in developing successful careers within the changing media environment, where journalists and other media professionals are increasingly exposed to digital tools for research, content development and other newsroom activities. The training formed part of Digital Sahafat 3.0, a programme focused on providing media professionals with access to digital skills and technologies. The involvement of participants from Hazara University, Government Degree College and Hazara Express News also reflects the programme’s reach across both educational institutions and an active regional newsroom. The practical sessions around Google Gemini, Canvas and Gemini Notebook were intended to give participants direct familiarity with tools that can be used to support their work and learning.
Tech Valley Pakistan has invited newsrooms and other media organizations interested in arranging Digital Sahafat training to contact the organization for further information. The programme is being positioned as an opportunity for regional media professionals to gain exposure to artificial intelligence and other digital tools, with the Mansehra session serving as another training activity under the Digital Sahafat initiative. Organizations interested in bringing the training to their newsroom can contact Tech Valley Pakistan through the email address gnipk@techvalley.pk. Further information about the programme is also available through the registration and programme details shared by Tech Valley Pakistan. The latest session demonstrates the continued focus of Digital Sahafat 3.0 on regional media talent, with students and newsroom employees receiving the same practical training in artificial intelligence tools. The initiative also connects technology training with journalism education, giving participants from Mansehra and the wider Hazara region an opportunity to develop familiarity with tools such as Google Gemini, Canvas and Gemini Notebook as they continue their studies or careers in media.
