MUET Team Wins 2nd Place in Huawei ICT Competition

Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) has proudly secured 2nd place in the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition 2024-2025, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The MUET team, consisting of Tahseen Ahmed and Navera Iqbal from MUET and Muhammad Ishaque from Sindh Agriculture University, excelled in a competition that featured over 17,500 students from 135 universities worldwide. Their outstanding performance allowed them to outperform 14 teams from 11 countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Qatar, showcasing their expertise and innovation on a global stage.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to the brilliance of Pakistani students and the unwavering commitment of MUET to fostering technological innovation and global competitiveness. The university continues to cement its reputation as a leading institution, capable of nurturing exceptional talent that can excel in international arenas.

Guided by their dedicated advisor, Dr. Faheem Yar Khuhawar, the team has earned the honor of representing the Middle East and Central Asia at the Huawei Global Finals, scheduled to take place in Shanghai, China, in May 2025. This milestone is a proud moment for MUET and the nation, inspiring future generations to pursue excellence and aim for even greater achievements in the field of technology.

The Huawei ICT Competition serves as a globally recognized platform for students to demonstrate their skills in various ICT domains, including networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
