The government of [Country] has earmarked a budget of Rs. 72.597 billion from 4G licenses as part of its non-tax revenue for the upcoming fiscal year of 2023-24. This allocation represents an increase from the previous fiscal year’s budget of Rs. 50 billion, which was later revised upward to Rs. 74 billion.

In addition, the budget documents for 2023-24 reveal that the government has set aside Rs. 10 billion from the mobile handset levy for the next fiscal year. This amount remains unchanged from the budgeted Rs. 10 billion for the outgoing fiscal year, which was later revised to Rs. 8 billion.

Under the category of income from property and enterprise, specifically Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, the government aims to generate Rs. 1.628 billion for the next fiscal year. This figure represents a decrease from the budgeted Rs. 9 billion for the current fiscal year, which was subsequently revised to Rs. 1.628 billion.

Furthermore, the government has budgeted Rs. 7.203 billion for 2023-24 from Regulatory Authorities (surplus/penalties). This allocation marks a significant increase from the budget of Rs. 695 million for the current fiscal year, which was later revised to Rs. 438 million.

These budgetary allocations reflect the government’s focus on leveraging revenue streams associated with the telecom sector, particularly 4G licenses, mobile handset levies, and regulatory authorities.

The increase in budgeted amounts in some categories highlights the government’s efforts to harness the potential of the telecom industry and generate substantial non-tax revenue for the country’s economic growth and development.
