5G connectivity has finally begun appearing on iPhones in Pakistan, marking a major milestone for Apple users in the country. However, the rollout is extremely limited and currently works only under specific conditions, meaning most users will still not see 5G on their devices in normal usage.
According to early reports, the feature is currently restricted to Zong’s network and only functions on iPhones running Apple’s latest beta software version (iOS 26.5 beta). This means users must manually install the experimental update before the 5G option even appears on their devices, as it is not yet enabled in stable iOS releases.
Even for eligible users, access remains inconsistent. The rollout is still in a testing phase between Apple and the telecom operator, which is why the feature is not broadly available across all devices or regions. Apple typically enables 5G through carrier-specific settings, and until full certification is completed, the functionality remains partially locked for most users.
Industry reports also suggest that Pakistan’s 5G ecosystem is still in early deployment stages, with telecom operators gradually expanding compatibility while working through device certification requirements. As a result, even users with 5G-capable iPhones may continue to experience 4G-only connectivity unless their device, software, and network conditions all align.
In short, while the development signals progress toward full 5G availability on iPhones in Pakistan, the current rollout is limited to testing conditions, a single network, and beta software users—meaning a nationwide stable launch is still pending.
