The Sindh government has announced full digitization of the student enrolment system across all public and government supported schools, assigning each student a unique admission identification linked to their NADRA B-Form. The decision was revealed by Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah during a meeting with senior officials from the National Database and Registration Authority.
Under the new system, enrolment records, attendance, academic performance, examination history and school transfers will be maintained under a single digital profile for the entire duration of a student’s educational journey. The minister said the digital profile will follow each student throughout their schooling, creating a consistent and centralized record that education authorities can access at any stage.
The meeting reviewed the proposed digital enrolment framework, the integration of education data with NADRA, the development of the student identification mechanism, and the roadmap for a province wide rollout. The minister said digital attendance systems for both teachers and students have already been completed and successfully implemented in several schools, laying the groundwork for the broader digital enrolment initiative.
He said the NADRA linked system will help eliminate fake and duplicate admissions while allowing education authorities to identify students who remain absent for extended periods or are at risk of dropping out of school entirely. He added that greater use of technology would reduce human intervention, improve transparency in admissions and attendance, and generate reliable data to support evidence based educational planning, more equitable resource allocation and more effective implementation of reforms across the province’s education system.
