The Higher Education Commission held a webinar in collaboration with AIP Publishing under the HEC National Digital Library Programme, aimed at helping Pakistan’s research community access physical sciences research and explore publishing opportunities. The session, titled Advancing Science, Together: Supporting Pakistan’s Research Community Through HEC-NDLP, was designed for faculty members, researchers, students, authors and library professionals across the country.

During the webinar, participants were introduced to AIP Publishing’s research resources and given guidance on how to navigate the platform effectively for academic and research purposes. The session also covered publishing opportunities available through AIP Publishing, along with broader discussions on open science and open access practices aimed at helping researchers increase the visibility of their work internationally.

Organizers also used the session to highlight how the HEC National Digital Library Programme supports Pakistan’s wider research community by providing access to scholarly resources that might otherwise be difficult for local institutions to obtain. The programme has been a key part of HEC’s efforts to give students, faculty and researchers across the country access to international academic material through a centralized digital library system.

The webinar forms part of ongoing efforts by the Higher Education Commission to strengthen research capacity in Pakistan through partnerships with international publishing organizations, reflecting a broader push to improve research output and academic visibility from local institutions on a global scale. Such collaborations are increasingly seen as important tools for connecting Pakistani researchers with international publishing standards and expanding their access to global scholarly networks.
