Higher Education Commission (HEC), through the National Academy of Higher Education, is organising a four day training programme focused on Artificial Intelligence literacy for faculty members. The programme, titled “AI Literacy for Faculty Members: Building AI Ready Institutions,” is designed to provide educators with practical knowledge and skills for integrating Artificial Intelligence into different areas of higher education. The training will cover curriculum design, teaching and learning, assessment, research and academic administration, giving participating faculty members an opportunity to understand how AI can be incorporated into their academic responsibilities. The programme is scheduled to take place from August 27 to August 28 and August 31 to September 1, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The initiative will be conducted through smart classrooms located across around 100 universities, allowing faculty members from participating institutions to take part in the training through the designated facilities.
The training programme is aimed at helping educators develop practical understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its applications within university environments. According to HEC, the programme will focus on equipping faculty members with knowledge and skills that can support the integration of AI into teaching and academic activities.
