PSEB has concluded its second Soft Skills Training cohort in Peshawar, bringing together information and communication technology professionals from the region for a structured programme focused on building the communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities that increasingly determine how Pakistani technology professionals perform and are perceived in the global marketplace.
The Peshawar cohort, delivered in partnership with Liaison Corporation Private Limited under the Tech Destination Pakistan initiative of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, created a learning environment that extended beyond conventional instruction. Participants engaged in interactive activities, team-based challenges, and discussions led by expert trainers, with the format designed to develop practical professional behaviours rather than theoretical knowledge alone. Feedback gathered from participants and trainers reflected a shared recognition that soft skills occupy a central place in career advancement, particularly for technology professionals whose technical competence already meets a high baseline but who need to communicate, lead, and collaborate effectively to progress into senior roles and serve international clients.
The programme addresses a well-documented gap in Pakistan’s information and communication technology talent pipeline, where formal education systems have historically prioritised technical subjects while paying limited attention to the professional effectiveness skills that employers and international clients consistently cite when evaluating candidates and service providers. For a workforce increasingly engaged with clients across North America, Europe, and the Gulf, the ability to present clearly, manage relationships, resolve conflicts constructively, and contribute to team environments is as commercially significant as any technical qualification. PSEB’s expansion of the Soft Skills Training programme from Lahore to Peshawar reflects a deliberate effort to bring this kind of professional development to technology talent outside the major urban centres, ensuring that the benefits of the initiative reach a wider cross-section of Pakistan’s growing information and communication technology workforce.
