The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has extended the proposal submission deadline for Pakistan’s National Unified Super App project, after the initial call for proposals failed to generate the level of industry participation the government had anticipated. Originally set for March 31, 2026, the new deadline has been pushed to April 10, 2026, giving technology firms additional time to prepare and submit their proposals for what is being positioned as one of the most significant digital public service initiatives in the country’s history.
The National Unified Super App and Web Portal is being developed under the Digital Economy Enhancement Project, a flagship initiative supported by the World Bank. The platform is designed to consolidate a wide range of public services into a single digital touchpoint, enabling citizens to complete tasks such as licence renewals, tax filing, and permit applications from one unified interface available around the clock on both mobile and web platforms. The platform will be offered in multiple languages to ensure broader accessibility across Pakistan’s linguistically diverse population and will integrate directly with NADRA’s digital identity infrastructure for secure, verified authentication. Additional features include personalised dashboards and a single sign-on system linked with national identity cards, with the combined effect of substantially reducing the need for citizens to visit government offices in person.
The architecture underpinning the super app has been designed with scalability and future adaptability in mind. Built on a microservices framework, the platform will allow for the progressive integration of new services and third-party solutions while improving workflow automation and overall service delivery efficiency. The initiative is aligned with Pakistan’s national digital strategies, including the Cloud First policy and established e-government standards, ensuring that the platform is built to evolve alongside the country’s growing digital infrastructure. With the revised April 10 deadline now in place, the Ministry is expected to be hoping for a stronger and more competitive field of proposals that can match the ambition of a project intended to serve millions of Pakistani citizens through a single, seamlessly integrated digital experience.
