Pakistan has formally introduced a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence and Robotics curriculum for students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, marking a significant step in preparing learners for a technologically advanced future. Finalized under the direction of Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, and developed by the National Curriculum Council in consultation with experts, the curriculum is designed to equip students with critical digital and computational skills. The initiative emphasizes robotics design, intelligent systems, automation, ethical technology use, and real-world problem-solving, providing structured and progressive learning pathways that grow with each grade level.

The AI and Robotics program has been carefully aligned with national priorities and international best practices to ensure students gain practical, application-oriented competencies. Officials stressed that the curriculum aims to prepare learners not only for higher education and local employment opportunities but also for participation in a global technological workforce. By focusing on computational thinking and intelligent systems, the program introduces students to advanced concepts in AI while grounding their learning in ethics, societal impact, and responsible use of emerging technologies.

To facilitate smooth implementation, the curriculum will be shared with teachers, educational administrators, and relevant stakeholders to support orientation, professional training, and capacity building. A phased rollout across schools is planned to gradually integrate AI and Robotics competencies into classrooms nationwide. This approach ensures educators are equipped to deliver content effectively and students can progressively develop skills that are aligned with evolving digital demands.

The launch reflects Pakistan’s broader Digital Pakistan vision and ongoing efforts to promote STEM education across the country. By providing students with access to AI and Robotics learning from an early age, the government seeks to cultivate a generation that is technologically literate, competitive, and capable of contributing to the national and global economy. The initiative also signals a growing commitment to embedding future-ready skills into mainstream education, enabling students to engage confidently with emerging technologies while fostering innovation, problem-solving, and ethical digital practices.
