The Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) has proposed the establishment of specialized “China desks” within key public institutions across Pakistan. This initiative is intended to offer streamlined support to Chinese investors, simplify bureaucratic processes, and accelerate industrial cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The proposed China desks would serve as centralized facilitation points for Chinese businesses operating or planning to invest in Pakistan. These dedicated setups are expected to provide direct regulatory guidance, assistance with project execution, and access to essential business services. PCJCCI envisions this move as a strategic effort to reduce administrative delays and enhance investor confidence, particularly for projects that fall under the CPEC framework.

PCJCCI President Nazir Hussain reaffirmed the chamber’s dedication to building a stronger industrial partnership between the two nations. He emphasized that the chamber is ready to serve as a vital support platform, encouraging a more seamless investment experience for Chinese enterprises. By offering hands-on guidance and reducing procedural hurdles, the chamber aims to create an environment that promotes mutual economic progress.

The proposal supports Pakistan’s broader objective of modernizing its industrial landscape and drawing increased foreign investment. As part of this agenda, PCJCCI is encouraging joint ventures across emerging sectors such as renewable energy, electric vehicles, and agro-processing. There is a particular focus on innovation-led collaboration, with plans to establish pilot projects and technology hubs that contribute to sustainable development and knowledge exchange.

PCJCCI Secretary General Salahuddin Hanif underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among different institutions to ensure successful execution of the initiative. He mentioned that the chamber is actively engaging in the formation of joint working groups, hosting policy roundtables, and organizing matchmaking sessions aimed at bringing together Pakistani and Chinese business leaders. These activities are designed to support practical, on-ground collaboration and facilitate long-term relationships.

Through these initiatives, PCJCCI seeks to strengthen its role as a connecting bridge between the business communities of both countries. The goal is to advance technology transfer, encourage industrial innovation, and build a sustainable economic partnership that reflects shared goals. By simplifying procedures and offering targeted support, the proposed China desks could play a key role in enhancing the quality and pace of bilateral trade and investment activities.
