Enertech Holding Company Kuwait has announced that it will collaborate with Huawei to construct an eco-friendly smart destination with 500 MW of solar power plants in order to boost tourism in Pakistan. Huawei will be the primary technical partner in this collaboration and will provide ongoing assistance to EnerTech. Both companies signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for this relationship in Lahore.

Because ICT technologies play such an important role in merging companies and lifestyles with cutting-edge technical solutions, smart city development will usher in a new era for Pakistan’s construction, tourism, and renewable energy industries. Through the use of important technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Big Data, the Internet of Things, Intelligence Security solutions, and others, both firms will ensure long-term cooperation on smart and secure tourism.

The goal of this MoU are as follows:

* To ensure a state-of-the-art destination to attract citizens and tourists from the rest of the world and Pakistan.

* To establish a partnership for renewable solar power plant development.

In regards to this partnership, Mr. Gaoweijie, Managing Director of Enterprise Business Group, Huawei stated the following in the ceremony:

“The digital economy has emerged as the new engine of global economic growth, particularly in the post-Covid era. AI, cloud, 5G, and IoT have all contributed to maintaining the fabric of our society together. AI makes urban development more effective, innovative, and sustainable by improving city perception, facilitating swift decision-making, and enabling faster execution. Smart cities must strive for long-term goals such as renewable energy, digital inclusion, quality of life, and citizen and tourist safety in the future. Huawei has a global corporate presence, thus a relationship and collaboration with EnerTech will be possible not just in Pakistan but also in the wider Middle East.”

Moreover, the CEO of EnerTech Pakistan, Mr. Yasser Malik, mentioned:

“Enertech is working on a number of projects in Pakistan, including water treatment and distribution, renewable energy, and long-term infrastructure. EnerTech makes it a priority to use cutting-edge technology on every project. Huawei is always willing to go above and beyond to help its partners and offers creative and innovative solutions. The smart city development projects and EnerTech’s solar power plants will build the groundwork for a long-term relationship with Huawei. Enertech wants to work on a number of projects with Huawei as part of a strategic alliance that will allow for long-term collaboration for sustainable development, incorporating Huawei’s renewable energy technologies.”
