Pakistani students delivered a strong performance at Harvard Model United Nations China, securing several individual and delegation awards against international competition. Cedar College and School earned the Best Small Delegation award among more than 70 participating delegations at the conference, which is run by Harvard University’s student led World Model United Nations organization and typically draws around 1,000 delegates from over 50 countries to its itinerant annual location.

The Pakistani delegation secured a total of five individual awards, including three Best Delegate honors and two awards recognizing outstanding diplomatic performance. Team members Naveen Raj, Muhammad Ahmed Hussain and Maliha Ali received Best Delegate awards for their performances during the conference, while Pakistani students Saleeqa Murtaza and Alishba Wazir were recognized with Best Diplomat awards. Throughout the conference, the students discussed major global issues and demonstrated strong skills in diplomacy, leadership, negotiation and critical thinking.

Pakistan also received recognition through Hussam Muazzam, a student of Beaconhouse School Lahore, who represented Pakistan at the conference and secured the prestigious Honorable Mention Award. His public speaking skills, confidence and diplomatic abilities helped him stand out among international participants at the conference, which typically pairs delegates in dual delegations for discussions across simulated committees addressing pressing global issues.

The strong performance by Pakistani students at Harvard Model United Nations China highlighted the growing presence of young Pakistanis at international academic and diplomatic forums. Their success also demonstrated the confidence, communication skills and leadership potential of Pakistani youth on the global stage, adding to a broader pattern of Pakistani student delegations achieving recognition at major international Model United Nations conferences this year.
