DynaSys Networks, an LPWAN IoT network operator and developer of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence for IoT solutions in Pakistan, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hexing Group, a global provider of smart green energy products and solutions, to jointly develop next generation smart water metering technology. The partnership will focus on exploring, developing, marketing and deploying these solutions across multiple regions, extending beyond Pakistan into Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.

As part of the joint initiative, the two companies have set a long term commercial target to activate hundreds of thousands of smart water meters by December 31, 2035, a milestone the companies project could generate combined revenues exceeding USD 10 million over the course of the agreement. The scale of the target reflects the companies’ shared ambition to position smart water metering as a significant growth area across the water utility sector in emerging markets over the coming decade.

The collaboration brings together DynaSys Networks’ expertise in low power wide area network infrastructure and IoT connectivity with Hexing Group’s background in smart energy hardware and metering technology, combining local network deployment capabilities with internationally established metering equipment. Smart water meters are designed to allow utilities to monitor water usage remotely, detect leaks more quickly, and reduce the operational costs associated with manual meter reading, an area that has seen increasing interest from utility providers in regions facing water scarcity and aging infrastructure.

By extending their partnership beyond Pakistan into Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, DynaSys Networks and Hexing Group are positioning the collaboration as part of a broader regional push toward smart utility infrastructure, an area where demand has been growing alongside efforts to modernize water management systems in developing markets. The companies expect the agreement to support wider adoption of connected metering technology across the water sector in the years ahead, as utilities in the region look for more efficient ways to track consumption and manage limited water resources.
