Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi has unveiled plans to establish an Information Technology (IT) Park in Karachi within the next six months. Furthermore, special technology zones are on the horizon for the northern and southern districts of Karachi in the next two years. To kickstart these initiatives, DHA organized a specialized IT seminar, titled “Tech Talk,” featuring the Federal Minister for IT, Dr. Umar Saif.

The event included the participation of DHA Karachi’s Administrator and the Chancellor of the National Defence University, Professor Saeed Minaas, and key figures from the IT industry, including Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Chairman of PASHA. Dr. Umar Saif emphasized the transformative potential of the IT sector, highlighting its ability to strengthen the national economy. He acknowledged the establishment of the Pakistan Software Export Board as a pivotal step in the nation’s development.

Dr. Umar Saif also stressed the significant role of the IT sector, with the creation of Special Technology Zones aligning with the digital vision led by military leadership. He highlighted the formation of a forum by the Pakistan Software Export Board, bringing military leadership and stakeholders together for collaborative efforts in national development.

Muhammad Zohaib Khan, Chairman of PASHA, emphasized the importance of organized institutions in the IT sector, praising their role in providing essential support. He commended the efforts of military leadership in attracting foreign investments for non-military ventures.

The IT Park project by DHA and the simultaneous development of tech infrastructure resonate with the digital vision championed by military leadership.
