Yango Pakistan, part of the global tech company Yango Group, has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA), aiming to enhance the safety and security of passengers, particularly women, children, and families. This partnership is a major step in addressing concerns related to urban mobility and ensuring safer transportation experiences for users in Pakistan.

The collaboration seeks to implement cutting-edge security measures, which include key initiatives designed to safeguard vulnerable groups and improve overall passenger safety in the ride-hailing sector. One of the standout features of the partnership is the introduction of an in-app direct call feature to the Women’s Safety Helpline (15). This addition allows female passengers to easily access the helpline through the Yango app, providing added peace of mind during their ride. Additionally, the partnership includes a Child Safety Helpline, dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for children and families using the service. Beyond these immediate measures, the two organizations are committed to exploring new technologies and safety protocols, which will further elevate the security of both passengers and drivers across the country.

The signing ceremony, which marked the formal beginning of this strategic collaboration, was held at the PSCA Headquarters. The event was attended by SSP (R) Capt. Mustansar Feroze, the Chief Operating Officer of the PSCA, and Muhammad Jahangir Khan, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations at Yango Pakistan. The ceremony highlighted the growing importance of using technology to address safety challenges in urban transportation systems.

Miral Sharif, Country Head of Yango Pakistan, emphasized the importance of passenger safety, calling it the company’s top priority. “This partnership is a strong step forward in ensuring secure and reliable mobility for all, particularly women and children,” Sharif said. “We are excited to launch these first initiatives in partnership with the Punjab Safe City Authority and look forward to expanding our efforts through continued collaboration.”

The PSCA also welcomed the partnership, with SSP (R) Capt. Mustansar Feroze acknowledging the role of technology in building safer urban communities. He said, “This joint initiative reflects our shared mission to build safer communities by using technology-driven solutions.”

As Yango Pakistan continues to expand in the region, the company remains committed to ensuring the safety, affordability, and reliability of its services. Since its launch, Yango has rapidly gained a strong foothold in Pakistan’s ride-hailing market, becoming a trusted name by offering accessible pricing and building systems that cater to local needs and challenges.

This collaboration with the Punjab Safe City Authority is only the beginning of a series of initiatives that Yango plans to roll out in Pakistan. The company’s broader commitment to innovation and the local market underscores its mission to bridge the gap between advanced global technologies and regional needs, fostering improved daily living experiences through technology.

Yango Group, a global tech company, is known for transforming globally sourced technologies into everyday services tailored to local communities. The Yango app offers a wide range of services, including digital city solutions, and is available for free on Android and iOS in multiple languages.

With this partnership, Yango is setting the stage for a safer and smarter ride-hailing experience for millions of passengers in Pakistan.
