Xiaomi has unveiled its latest smart home offering, the Mijia Air Conditioner Human-Sensing Wind 1.5HP, in China at an introductory price of $347, with a final price set at $564. The unit brings together advanced human-sensing technology, AI-driven airflow management, and energy efficient performance to enhance home cooling and heating experiences. Using dual millimeter-wave radars, the air conditioner detects human presence in real time and adjusts airflow based on user location and movement. It can avoid blowing air directly at someone standing in front of the unit, deliver softer airflow when people are nearby, and follow users with directional cooling. When no one is present in the room, it automatically switches to an energy-saving mode.

The air conditioner features a 908 cm² air deflector panel paired with a 108 mm cross-flow fan blade, generating airflow up to 780 m³/h. This allows rapid cooling or heating within three minutes while maintaining a temperature difference of less than 0.5°C throughout the room. Airflow coverage extends up to 10 meters, and noise levels can go as low as 16 dB(A). The unit also includes specialized airflow modes, such as canopy mode that directs cool air along the ceiling and carpet mode for pushing warm air downward, offering flexible climate control based on room conditions.

Powered by the Mijia Lingyun intelligent control engine, the air conditioner leverages AI to learn user preferences and optimize cooling patterns over time. Lingyun Energy-Saving technology further enhances efficiency, reportedly improving energy savings by up to 25 percent. The device integrates seamlessly with Xiaomi HyperOS and can be controlled through the Mi Home app or via voice commands using XiaoAI. It carries a Level 1 energy efficiency rating with an APF value of 5.32, and Xiaomi estimates that it can reduce electricity consumption by 207 kWh annually compared to lower-efficiency models, highlighting its environmental and cost benefits.

Beyond intelligent climate control, the Mijia Air Conditioner Human-Sensing Wind includes features aimed at improving indoor air quality and device longevity. It offers indoor and outdoor self-cleaning functions, antibacterial filters, and cloud-based diagnostics that continuously monitor performance and provide maintenance suggestions. These capabilities are designed to maintain optimal operation while minimizing manual maintenance requirements, making it a practical option for smart homes seeking both comfort and efficiency. Xiaomi’s latest air conditioner reflects its continued focus on integrating AI and smart technology into everyday home appliances, offering users automated, responsive, and energy-conscious solutions for managing indoor climate.
