Standard Charted have collaborated with Pakistan Innovation Foundation to launch the WomenInTechProgramme to allow the promotion and development on women led innovation and technology in the country

INNOVentures Global (Pvt) Ltd is a venture platform that enables investors to fund commercially viable innovations and entrepreneurial ventures.Standard Chartered, in partnership with INNO Ventures Global (Pvt) Limited, recently organized an event called the Standard Chartered Women In Tech Program in March 2019. Recently, they announced the five winners of this year’s Standard Chartered Women in Tech Programme 2019. This programme was aimed to promote the economic and social development of women in Pakistan through innovation or technology led entrepreneurship.

The main purpose of the SC WomenInTechProgrammehad the objectives to identify and support women entrepreneurs or women-led entrepreneurial ventures in Pakistan. Moreover, they worked to build innovation measures to promote technology businesses or use technology to grow current businesses through:pre-seed funding,technology intervention design,capacity building,mentoring, androle-modelling. According to the metrics provided by the organizers for the event, since International Women’s Day, 86 Women Entrepreneurs applied for the SC WomenInTech programme. Out of which 35 startups pitched before 3 regional juries and 20 women were selected to become Cohort 1 of the Standard Chartered Sc WomenInTechProgramme for Pakistan. Once the first cohort was settled in to the program, 3 months later, 18 Women Founders graduated from the Programme and quite recently the organizers crowned the 5 Winners to receive a pre-seed grant.

The fivewinners of the Standard Chartered WomenInTech Programme for Pakistan 2019 are;

  2. Trashit
  3. ReliveNow
  4. Plate 101
  5. Closet

These selected startups went through all aspects of the event which include the pitches, cohort, capacity building and project development. Moreover, these winners will also receive personalized mentoring and support from Standard Chartered and Innoventures Global Pvt Ltd to help them grow more.These five startups have wonupto $10,000 in pre-seed grant to help promote their business ventures at an accelerated pace.
